Introduction to Woodshop Machines

This course introduces you to the range of wood machines available at Flax Workshop. It covers the setup and safe operation of the equipment.
Aims
The goal is to help you get familiar with the woodshop tools, and build the skills and confidence you need to use the equipment independently in the future.
What we cover
We introduce you to the rail saw, bandsaw, panel saw, mitre saw and sander. Participants will be set a small project which gives hands-on use of each machine.
You’ll work with the rail saw, bandsaw, panel saw, mitre saw, and sander. Participants will complete a small project that provides hands-on experience with each machine.
The course is led by art technician Chris Campbell-Palmer who has a degree in Sculpture from Camberwell College of Arts and many years’ experience working with leading artists as a sculpture fabricator, gallery technician and film-set mould maker.
