Flaxart International Residency programme, which facilitates artists living and working in the city for a period of one or two months, has seen artists from Europe, Asia, America and Australia working in Belfast.

Residents can stay for a period of up to two months and are give a studio space accomidation and a subsistance stipend of £500 per month. Residents have access to the flaxart workshop and facilities including wireless broadband.

Artists can use the time to research and / or create new work stimulated by their experience of Belfast. We particularly welcome artists who are prepared to connect broadly with the debates emerging from the post-conflict aspect of the city.

By its nature, the International Residency Programme has opened up a range of possibilities for artists and arts organisations in Belfast. Over the years, a number of partnerships have been developed and these have led to residencies, exchange programmes and an increased international awareness of Flaxart Studios as a challenging residential facility for emerging and established artists.
