Flax Art Studios Graduating Student Residency provides an opportunity for a young artist to make the transition from art student to professional practitioner in a safe and stimulating environment. This Residency is awarded to students who have displayed innovation and creativity in their practice. The Graduating Student Residency Programme offers free studio space for one year including free access to the studio's facilities plus ongoing support and advice from more established artists.

In 2003 The Golden Thread Gallery hosted an exhibition to celebrate 5 years of the Student Graduate Programme.

Flaxart would like to welcome and congradulate Leo Devlin (Graduate, University of Ulster) and Niall de Buitlear (Graduate, Dublin Institute of Technology). They will be joining Flaxart in October 2006.

Flaxart would also like to wish Maria McKinney, outgoing Student Graduate, all the best in the future.

Flaxart Studios is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Council.
